为了英语能考出好成绩，几乎每个家长都使出浑身解数，把自己的孩子推到各种辅导班。浪费了大量的人力物力，还有时间。可这对边远山区的孩子公平吗？外公所在的小学根本就没有英语课，就是想上英语辅导班，也找不到地方。外公经常说：真不明白，为什么一个外国的语言却决定着很多中国的孩子能不能上好大学，真是国家的可悲。是呀，农村的孩子到中学才开始上英语课，我们却已经在辅导班把初中的英语课程学完了。农村的孩子出生便倒在了英语的起跑线上，可悲，可叹。
我不反对学英语，英语也绝不应该和我们的语文数学同比，可以和历史，地理这样的小学科并列，这样既可以把我们的传统文化发扬光大，也给了山区，农村边远地区孩子一个和我们站在同一起跑线的机会。

这天，是五年级开学以来，第一堂英语课。大家都期待着黄老师的精彩笑话，“同学们，不要再留恋暑假的美好时光，赶快切换成英语频道！有些人的肉体还坐在这里，魂还在天上飘着呢。还有些人不想切换英语频道，我将送他英语大礼包，里面有许多英语习题，让他重新修好大脑，再切换成英语频道。”哈哈，我们被黄老师说的话，逗得捧腹大笑，乐得不可开交。她又说：“同学们，请把眼睛看向我看，不看的话，小心让我把你的眼珠拿出来，擦擦亮，耳朵不听我讲话的，就把耳朵揪下来，帮你擦一擦。好了，言归正传，让我们来学第一单元。”
黄老师在黑板上写下了标题“Goldilocks and three bears”。真正的英语课堂开始了。这篇英语短文，其实是一篇童话，在黄老师讲到主角Goldilocks品尝汤味儿的时候，拿出了三个水杯，假装是汤碗，开始喝汤了。第一碗汤很冰，当黄老师喝下汤时，“啊！”叫了起来，还张开了嘴巴，摇晃着身体，眼神也象被冰住似的，瞪着眼睛，只往前看，看样子，黄老师就像是在寒冷的冬天被冻住了，她说“This soup is too cold ”。黄老师继续品尝了下一碗汤，“呀！”黄老师又大叫一声，接着用手扇风到嘴里，脸蛋微红，舌头都伸出来了，可想而知，这碗汤肯定很烫，黄老师又像到了夏天，天热的都可以在地上煎鸡蛋了，黄老师说“This soup is too hot！ ”，黄老师尝了尝最后一碗汤，竟一下把所有的汤，都倒进了嘴里，喝了个精光，还不忘舔舔嘴巴周围，看看还有没有剩余的汤汁，也许，黄老师又到了春天或者秋天，不冷也不热。这时，她又做了个享受的表情，并说“This soup is just right ”我们都笑开了。

王老师虽然个子不高，但课上得十分精彩，她像一双无形的双手，把我们像磁铁一般吸引住了。王老师让有的组开火车朗读，如果你读得很好，口型、读音读正确的话，王老师会用欣赏的眼光表扬你：“Good！”。假如你读音跟口型都不正确的话，王老师会很耐心地把你教对。你读正确了，王老师会欣喜地说声：“Goog！”每当同学们被人夸奖之后，心里就像喝了蜜一样甜，脸上露出了灿烂的笑容。
我们班的调皮鬼——陶文星，上英语课竟然规规矩矩的，听得非常认真。那是因为第一节课的时候，陶文星把两个红色书签贴在自己的脸上，活像个逗人的小丑，同学们都哄堂大笑。王老师见了，微笑着说：“大家看，帅。”大家都被老师的话逗得哈哈大笑。
