　　We all have a common home. She provides us with enough food, enough water and enough living room. We get everything from the nature to live better, but we donnot do anything to protect her. How the air is polluted; the earth is poisoned; water is unsafe to drink and rubbish is burying the civilization that man owns.

　　我们都有共同的家。她为我们提供足够的食物、足够的水和足够的起居室。我们从自然生活的更好的一切，但我们不做些什么来保护她。空气是如何污染的，地球是有毒的，水是不安全的，垃圾掩埋着人类所拥有的'文明。

　　Our environment is being polluted faster than nature and mans present efforts can prevent. Time is bringing us more people, and more people will bring us more industry. So many trees will be cut down, and more large cities will be set up. Lots of waste material, in return, is produced and harms the environment. So some experts declare that the balance of nature is being upset, so that the very survival of man is in danger.

　　我们的环境污染比自然快，人类的努力可以阻止。时间带给我们更多的人，更多的人将带给我们更多的产业。如此多的树木将被砍伐，更多的大城市将被建立起来。作为回报，大量的废物产生并危害环境。因此，一些专家宣称，自然界的平衡正在被打乱，从而使人类的生存处于危险之中。

　　How can we solve this problem? The answer is that we must control the speed of growing people, forbid everyone to cut down trees and pour waste water into rivers and so on.

　　我们怎样才能解决这个问题？答案是，我们必须控制人口增长的速度，禁止人人砍伐树木，将废水排入河流，等等。

　　If we achieve this, the environment will turn very clean, and our future will be full of happiness.

　　如果我们做到这一点，环境将变得非常干净，我们的未来将充满幸福。

　　Weve all been taught that we should help people. It is the right thing todo and will make us popular with others. It may even win us favors in return.However, we must be realistic.

　　We cant say yes to every request. If we did, we would fail or go crazy forsure. Sometimes we simply dont have the time to help. In this case, we mustknow how to say no politely.

　　When we need to say no, here is one method we can try. First, we shouldtell the truth. If we really cant do something, we should just say so. Second,we should remember to refuse requests politely.

　　We must communicate clearly, but must also be sincere and sympathetic. Atrue friend will understand.

　　Finally, we must not feel guilty about saying no. Sometimes refusing othersis the right thing to do. It can save ourselves, and them, a lot of trouble. Inshort, we cannot please everyone all the time. Refusing favors is a part oflife.

　　I believe I can fly! Maybe you think that I am a crazy person or something. Well, actually “I believe I can fly” is the name of a song, which is my favorite English song. The reason why I like this song is the song brings me courage to make my dreams come true. Just like the song say “I believe I can fly! I believe I can touch the sky”。 You know I still dream about being a witch like Harry Potter and live in the wizardly world, to use my powers to save the day, like stopping the World Trade center from falling down, or stopping the war on Iraq…I know being a witch is impossible, but to make our world a better place is definitely possible.

　　Besides being a witch I also want to be an archaeologist, an Egyptologist. I want to go to Egypt, to discover the beauty of this ancient civilization. I think about it day and night, I see myself standing beside the pyramid, and working in the desert with mummies and sarcophagus. Maybe the dream is kind of far away from me. But I believe that one day my dream will indeed come true.

　　Finally, I want to tell you all that I always keep saying to myself: “I believe I can fly!” And now I am standing on this stage, and I believe I can make it!

　　Good afternoon everybody! Its my honor to speak here and I am very glad to share my topic with all of you. Today Id like to talk about “my dream”. I do not just have one dream, in fact, I have three. They are: a healthy life, a happy family and to travel my great country.

　　I have always admired the long healthy life my grandparents have. They are older than 80 years of age and they are still alive and kicking! How do they do that!? My grandparents plant vegetables and grow rice themselves; even in their old age they still make food for themselves! I guess that is why they can remain healthy. More importantly they remain humble and never ask for too much from life. Perhaps that makes them common, but they live a happy life. My grandmother once told me this:” I do not want to live long, only long enough for some grand children to be running around in my house”. I want to live a long, healthy and happy life just as they have.

　　Since my graduation from primary school, until now, every time on my birthday I make the same wish. I wish my parents will not fight anymore. I am not complaining that they gave me a bad childhood, they just fight so much! I am unhappy but that does not mean they do not love me. They do! They love me with all their heart. I love my parents also; I want them to live a happy life as well.

　　I want to travel this great country of ours. I want to see the beauty of our country. I want to see the miracles that made this country great! I want to go from the east to west, from the north all the way down to the south! I have a dream, that one day I can travel and see my country with my family and friends! If that is not possible, seeing my country on my own is good enough also. If I can fulfill all three of my dreams in life, then God can take me away. I would be happy, and l would have lived a full and prosperous life.
